The Hits Just Keep On Comin’ is mostly, but not entirely, about our Top 40 past, and how it’s still with us today in lots of ways, in addition to discussing whatever else strikes us as interesting. I frequently post mp3s, and I adhere to the standard music blog conventions for mp3s. That means mp3s posted here are for sampling purposes only. I encourage you to buy stuff if you like it, and I provide buy links for that purpose. Mp3s are taken down after a period of time (usually a week or two). If the copyright holder of any posted track would like me to take it down sooner, all they need do is get in touch. These conventions are adhered to by almost everybody, including blogs that get many, many more hits than I do.
If you’re new here, browse around a bit by category. The categories aggregate recurring types of posts, which provide a good idea of the kind of themes we return to around here. I haven’t categorized every post in the archives–just some of the ones in the major recurring categories. If you want a quick link to my favorite posts of our first two years, go here. Favorites from our third year are here; from our fourth, here.
As for me, your host—I’m an old radio guy. I left the biz in the mid 90s, but the business had left me long before that. Since radio was the only thing I ever seriously wanted to do with my life, it was a difficult breakup. I thought I was over it, until 2006, when I let myself be lured back in—and although I’m trying to keep both feet on the floor, it isn’t easy, because, well, hell, it’s my first love we’re talking about here.
If you have anything to add, use the Comments function at any post, or send me an e-mail. If you’d like to buy me a beer, I’d drink it. I live in the leafy suburbs of Madison, Wisconsin.

Hi. Jim.
Just did sort of a vanity Google search – ‘”Don Hess” KDTH’, and found your blog.
It has been a while.
Glad to see that you’re still in radio. I’m not, often wish I were.
Hope all is well.
Don Hess
