Move Along, Nothing to See Here

There’ll be no One Day in Your Life post here today, but check Popdose for “One Month in Your Life,” which you might enjoy. We’ll get back onto the trail of random October days tomorrow.

Until then, enjoy the stones of a jock in Jacksonville, Florida, who found out earlier this month he was going to be fired and quit on the air before the suits could pull the trigger. I had a chance to do that once, but I didn’t. It would have seemed insane to me at the time, but now, I think I’d probably consider it my proudest moment in radio.

(Thanks again to Pat for the tip.)

  1. The clip of that dude quitting on the air is fabulous. Is there anyone here old enough to remeber Regis Philbin quitting his roll as Joey Bishop’s sidekick and walking off the set in the middle of the show?

  2. Ever hear the clip of WABC’s Roby Yonge, who knew his contract wasn’t being renewed, plunging into an on-air exploration of the “death” of Paul McCartney in 1969?

    it’s on http://www.musicradio77.com.
    Classic.
