Not sure if you remember this, but even Motown got in on the craze (perhaps a bit early, in '81). They put out a couple of 'Greatest Hits/Collector's Series' single LPs from the usual suspects (Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Jackson Five) with one side mixed with a new drumline, and actually sped up slightly. Of course, no one would've known, because none of the LPs mentioned that one side of hits was actually a 12-minute medley. None of the albums charted, and the medleys weren't released as singles, but it's surprising Motown didn't jump on that bandwagon anyway. Anyway, thanks again for the fine research and memories.
