Half a Bubble Off Plumb

I like lists. The fourth post in the history of this blog was our first Top 5 list. Because I like lists, I like Chart Attack at JasonHare.com. I like all of the record chart sites in my links list. I like the idea of The Good, the Bad, and the Unknown, which purports to list the Top 11 of various things, best and worst. Up right now: The 11 Best Songs by Rush.

(The new Rush album, Snakes and Arrows, was officially released today. Radio stations, including mine, have been playing the single, “Far Cry,” for a month or more. Unlike Bob Seger and Elton John, Geddy Lee can still hit the high notes. As a result, Rush still sounds the way you remember them, more than any other “classic” artist who’s released new material in the last year or so.)

Where was I? Oh yeah—I like lists. And I especially like the idea of this one: from Big Rock Candy Mountain, the Top 100 drinking songs, which will be unveiled with a new installment every day until last call. It’s enough to make you list to one side. (insert rimshot here)

  1. I hope “Let’s Get Drunk & Screw” by Jimmy Buffett will finish in the Top 10, maybe even #1, in the Top 100 drinking songs.
